tvScientific's Creative QC and Healing automation helps verify creative asset specifications and correct common quality issues. This is highly useful for advertisers who want to ensure their ads meet publisher specifications and start their campaigns on time, and for customer service teams who want to reduce the time they spend troubleshooting creative issues.
Specifications for creative assets vary vastly from publisher to publisher, and our system manages these details to bring the asset up to the highest quality bar to maximize available inventory. A rejected asset can be a twofold loss for advertisers. First, inventory may be reduced for the campaign, creating the risk of revenue loss. Second, managing asset rejections is time-consuming (and thus expensive), creating the risk that a campaign won't start on time and that, once again, revenue will be lost as a result.
Use Creative QC and Healing
Let's say you have a YouTube (or other social media) ad that you want to repurpose for CTV. You don't have to take any extra steps beyond your normal process of uploading a creative or selecting an existing creative to add from the creative library. Creative QC and Healing automatically runs in the background whenever you add a creative to your campaign or ad group.
To use Creative QC and Healing:
Add the creative to your campaign or ad group as usual. It may mean that you're uploading a creative as part of building a new campaign or editing an existing campaign or ad group.
QC and Healing will run when you add the creative to your campaign or ad group. It will run on brand new creatives that you're uploading to the tvScientific platform for the first time, just as it will on existing creatives that already reside in your creative library.
For an existing campaign, refer to these instructions for uploading a creative.
When building a new campaign, refer to these instructions for uploading a creative.
Creative QC kicks in as tvScientific automatically checks your assets for any spec issues. The spec issues checked by Creative QC are listed below.
Creative healing kicks in as tvScientific automatically repairs any issues, if possible. These repairable issues are listed below.
If we are unable to repair an asset, tvScientific notifies you with an email, providing instructions on how to fix the issue yourself.
Troubleshoot Creatives
If our Creative QC and Healing is unable to correct problems with a creative, you receive an email with the errors we cannot fix. These include two types of errors:
Fatal errors: These errors prevent your ad from running and must be fixed before you can launch your campaign.
Warnings: These errors do not prevent your ad from running, but they may affect the performance of your campaign.
To access the spec feedback for a creative asset:
Go to the Creative Library, Creative Detail, or Creative Upload page in the tvScientific Platform. In the example below, navigate to the Creative tab to view the Creative list page.
A red banner displays across the top of the Creative list page with the number of unrepairable videos. Clicking on the red banner for More Info displays details of each unrepairable video:
You can copy the data here (click the copy icon in the upper right corner of the feedback) to your clipboard for easy pasting.
Scrolling through the list of videos in the Creative list page, notice that unrepairable creatives are marked with a red alert. Hover over the red alert to view the creative's problems.
Creatives that were usable and those that have been healed are marked with green check marks. You can copy the data here (click the copy icon in the upper right corner of the feedback) to your clipboard for easy pasting.
Click on a creative with a red alert to view its Creative detail page. The creative's defects are listed in the page.

Issues Automatically Repaired via Creative Healing
The following creative shortcomings can be automatically "healed":
Audio bitrate: must be between 192kbps and 1000000kbps
Video bitrate: must be between 12Mbps and 50Mbps (We warn via the UI and the email that it may not run on some premium pubs if it's at least 8Mbps)
Video bitrate greater than 12mbps: PASS
Video bitrate between 8mbps and 12mbps: Creative QC will "heal" it to meet specification quality
Video bitrate less than 8mbps: Fails QC and is not repairable; must go to carpe or get a new asset
